Lesson Duration:
Usually one hour, but longer and/or shorter lessons are available at a pro-rata cost. Cost of a standard 1 hour lesson is $80.

 

Covid Plan

Our driving school has a covid plan that requires all  students to sanitise their hands before each session (hand sanitiser provided). The wearing of masks is optional but not required

Pricing

Our standard 1 hour lesson costs $80. DriveSafe NT lessons cost $40.  We charge $175 for the driving test. Payment may be made by cash or card.

 

Pick/drop off

We can pick you up and drop you back at your preferred location. Note that if you live more than 10 kilometres from the PO, there will be an increased charge.

 

Cancellation policy

If you are unable to attend a pre-booked lesson, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. We will then reschedule your lesson at no cost.  If cancelled within 24 hours, or if you do not keep your booked lesson time, we reserve the right to charge the full cost of the booked lesson.

 

Remote areas:

Our sphere of operation is restricted to a 20 kilometre radius of the Katherine Post Office.

 

Driving test

We are approved MVR examiners and we charge $175 for the C class P-test.  This includes GST, service fee and the use of our vehicle  The test is conducted in one of our cars (we have both manual and automatic cars fitted with dual controls).

 

Use of our car for the driving test:

When taking your test you will need to use our training vehicles because they have emergency pedals in the passenger side plus an MVR approved camera for compliance monitoring purposes.

 

DRV4LYF Driving School reserves the right to withhold the use of our training cars for your driving test if we think that you are not ready.

 

If you have not had lessons with us previously or have transferred an interstate or overseas license to an NT license, we cannot be sure that you will not present a danger to yourself and other road users (and our car!) during your test.

For this reason we strongly suggest you have at least one lesson with us before booking your driving test so you have a reasonable chance of passing.

 

If you choose to ‘just book a test’, this is OK but you may need to wait 2 weeks before you retake it if you fail. This is so you have time to have a lesson with us or practice with the person who has been helping you learn.  9 out of 10 people who take their test without a lesson fail the driving test.

 

GST

GST is included in the charges.
